I know what you’re thinking: coffee addicts everywhere are cringing at the thought of giving up their morning latte. However, before you close your minds off completely, let me introduce you to the newest hot drink to add to your morning routine: the golden milk latte. The name “golden milk” comes from the recipe’s star ingredient, turmeric, which boasts unbelievable benefits for our skin, brain, mood, immune system and way more. The golden color turmeric gives to the milk results in a delicious, healthy way to either start or end your day. Check out this list below for some of golden milk’s great benefits:
- Great for our brains: curcumin, found in turmeric, helps to increase memory function and promotes repair to the brain’s stem cells
- Muscle pain relief: turmeric is anti-inflammatory, helping to reduce muscle soreness
- Strengthens immunity: turmeric is anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic, so it helps to reduce infections in our guts, prevents stomach ulcers and reduce symptoms of IBS and Crohn’s
- Reduces cholesterol: lowers the levels of bad cholesterol and increases the levels of good
If all of these amazing benefits haven’t quite sold you yet, then maybe this will: golden milk lattes are absolutely delicious, and because they’re caffeine-free, they won’t give you the negative affects that coffee does. It also serves as a great post-dinner drink while watching TV, reading a book or scrolling through Instagram. My favorite brands are Gaia and Jarrow, which both carry great blends of golden milk powder. Ancient Nutrition also carries a turmeric bone broth protein, which is a great way to sneak in some extra turmeric into your diet! Check out my favorite way to make a golden milk latte:
